Extreme clouds

Clouds are being very annoying at the moment, but reader Louie Blyton has alerted me to this article on nacreous clouds, beautiful "mother of peal" coloured clouds which form in the extreme conditions above Antarctica (-80 deg C). Our own ABC Science-on-line also has an article on these clouds. The frequency of their formation may be an index of global warming.
