Comet Elenin in STEREO H1B (August 16 and 17)

Comet Elenin is passing across the STEREO H1B field of view fading as it goes. The comet is actually brighter on the 16th than the 17th, despite what it looks like in the image, as the corona was much brighter on the 16th, and washed out the comet when I increased the brightness. I've made a little AVI animation of the August 17 images (1 Mb).

Some recent Earth-bound images of Elenin are here and here.

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THE EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY WOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON COMET ELENIN? NOT ONE PARAGRAPH , NOT ONE WORD, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE, WHEN ELENIN IS FROM EUROPE?

Can you explain to me why majority deny the existence of a creator God?

It is the same reason why the European space agency would have absolutely nothing on comet Elenin.

They do not WANT (a choice) to do anything about Him

When the comet comes around the sun August 31 we will see it with the naked eye. End of conspiracy. Maybe.

Why should ESA talk about Elenin? (0r 2009 P1 currently putting on a nice show or 213P van Ness, currently fragmenting)

Their focus is on their space missions, when they talk about comets, it's the ones their spacecraft are going to, like the Rosetta mission

ESA's budget for outreach is also much smaller than NASA's and it ha much less general information (and updates its spacecraft status) much more rarely than NASA.

Ian ive seen alot of your debunking what do u av to say about the cluster around this thing? From uk

There is no "cluster" around Elenin (you can clearly see that in these pictures). Some people mistook the hour glass nebula for Elenin.

At 03:00 3 March 2011 Comet Elenin was located near 11 46 34.19 +00 03 44.3 in Virgo. The main-belt asteroids (13414) Grantham and (55864) 1997 PC were also in that part of the sky. There are 523,233 known "minor planets". Anytime you take a photo near the ecliptic there is a high probability of detecting faint asteroids in the background.
